What Happens in This Episode — Recap
The masked watchers from the end of episode 3 are now inside the walls. A group the show calls the Faceless tries to steal Ellora's store of grain — an attack not on people but on the haven's ability to feed itself through the harsh season. Jae, newly inducted into the Order of the White Lotus, leads the squad that drives them off. It is a temporary win: the Faceless open a gate and escape, and they take a hostage named Uki with them.
Karthik responds by assigning Daemin — a newcomer to the audience and seemingly to this fight — to work with Jae, doubling the people he trusts on the haven's security. The episode also keeps the season's quieter dread running underneath the action: Molin tells Datu that he saw the Avatar's eyes flash red. Given how much of this world's history now blames the Avatar for its ruin, a claim like that is not just gossip — it is a spark near very dry tinder.
